NBC Stations to Launch 'iVillage Live' Dec. 4

NBC Universal will try to help its station group's struggling daytime lineups by launching the previously announced "iVillage Live" show Dec. 4

The hour-long, live interactive show will play simultaneously on the NBC stations, the company's Bravo cable network and on iVillageLive.com. The show will originate from a studio at Universal Orlando Resort live at noon (ET) and 11 a.m. (CT), and will be rebroadcast with a live Internet chat on the West Coast.

"iVillage Live" is expected to replace interim or repeat programming on most of the stations' lineups.

"This is a new model we developed for daytime programming in terms of its concept, content, interactivity and brand," NBC Universal Television Stations President Jay Ireland said in the announcement. "The 360-degree premise allows our viewers to interact with the show in the way that best suits them, a true programming first for today's digital age."

The show will be hosted by a lineup of TV personalities and performers including Molly Pesce, a former Miss Florida with Broadway and cable TV experience; former Cleveland news anchor Sissy Schaefer; and Guy Yovan, who has home shopping TV experience.

Naamua Delaney, who has entertainment-TV reporting experience, will contribute as an "Internet Ambassador," and Bob Oschack, a comedy writer and performer, will do man-on-the-street reports from the resort.

David Shenfeld, whose resume includes executive producing "Good Day New York" on Fox's flagship station WNYW-TV and co-executive producing "Ricki Lake," will be executive producer of "iVillage Live."

The show will be available on demand for 24 hours on the Web site after each broadcast and then will be archived by date, segment and topic.

Charter sponsors include Bally Total Fitness, Calphalon, Estee Lauder companies including Aramis & Designer Fragrances, Clinique, Origins and others. GE Profile Appliances, Goody, Graco, Healthy Choice, Overstock.com, Priceline.com and Unilever will also sponsor the show.

Sponsors will participate in some on-air segments and their products will be available for sale on the Web site during the show, NBC said in the statement.
